With baby due in just a few weeks, it's time to start packing your bags! Meeting your little love for the first time is indescribable. Nothing else matters... until you realize you forgot to pack an item. Our hope is to help ease the process and the days spent in the hospital by being organized. Below you will find our list of what to pack in your hospital bag for baby.

Hospital Bag Organizers

Time in the hospital can be slightly chaotic and a total blur (speaking from personal experience). We hope our custom made canvas organizers will help to make packing for baby a breeze. Each bag is labeled accordingly for easy access for you or your partner (who may have no clue what he is looking for when you say, "hey babe, can you grab the birth announcement outfit from the bag?"). You can plan out outfits and accessories before heading to the hospital, and have them packed and ready to go when baby arrives!

First Outfit

Our favorite outfits for a newborn baby include: zip footies, gowns, layette sets, and bodysuits. If you aren't finding out gender until birth, pack neutral colored clothing that will work for boy or girl.

Birth Announcement

It's crazy how much hype and pressure can be put on the "birth announcement photo." In the social media crazed time we live in, this always seems like the most important shot...the photo that announces your new baby to the world (aka instagram, facebook, snapchat, and tiktok.. ha!)

I thought I would have the dreamiest, most aesthetically pleasing photo taken.. only to be rushed in the hospital, completely forget about it, and then scramble to take a photo and announce it three days after Miller's birth. I hope for a much calmer experience for you.

Put babe in your favorite outfit or wrap tight in a swaddle, add a headband or hat, and include a wooden disc. We love birth announcement discs where you can fill in baby's stats, gender reveal discs, or custom ones to reveal your new bundle's name to the world.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself because whatever baby is wearing, or the quality of the photo - everyone is so happy for you and your miracle.

Spare Outfits

Pack both newborn and 0-3 month sizes. You never know how big or small your baby will be. Zip footies and gowns are great options for spare outfits - can never have too many!

Going Home Outfit

It's a big day when you get to take your baby home from the hospital! We love a bodysuit and pants for this occasion. It seems a tad 'dressier' than zip footies, but still extremely comfortable for babe. We prefer this over gowns for ease in and out of the carseat and keeping babe warm on their big adventure. Make sure you add socks or booties for those sweet tootsies.

Swaddles/Blankets

Swaddles can add a fun pop of color or pattern in an announcement photo. Swaddle baby or cover the pad in the bassinet for a beautiful and easy backdrop. They can also double as a cover up for mama while breastfeeding. We carry several gender neutral colors and patterns in the shop that are great if you are Team Green. There are many sweet florals as well for your new baby girl. Add in one thicker blanket for warmth and use in the carseat for the ride home.

Accessories - pacifiers, hat, bows + burp cloths

If you don't know baby's gender, be sure to pack both hats and head wraps. It's a simple and fun way to announce your little one to the world (and keep their sweet little head warm). Include a few pacifiers in case they your babe takes to them for soothing. We love Bibs Pacifiers, but you may want to have a few brands packed. Add in some burp cloths to clean up all the messes.

Carseat

Make sure your carseat is installed correctly and you are familiar with its features before you head to the hospital. If you have questions about installation, search for local car seat inspection sites near you!
